title: COUNCIL - AGENT - FAQ - How is this not another chatbot
category: FAQ
predicted_narrative_arc: contrast with generic tools followed by reassurance of ownership
sentiment: reassuring
emotions:
- confident
- protective
- grounded
keypoints:
- Distinguishes from chatbots that draw from the internet or external scripts
- Answers only from the owner's own approved statements and standards
- Admits gaps instead of inventing responses
- Can operate when owner is absent but remains under owner control
- Does not book calendars or act independently without explicit prior setup
- Emphasizes writing down real recurring questions as the foundation
summary: This FAQ explains that the system is not a generic chatbot but a controlled
door to the owner's approved words and standards. It answers only from what has
already been said and authorized, admitting when it lacks information rather than
guessing. The setup allows responses when the owner is absent while keeping the
  owner as author and decision-maker.

## You

FAQ — How is this not another chatbot — and does it work when I am not there? How is this different from a chatbot I can stick on my website? Will it still answer when I am not in the room?

Answer (this house)

A chatbot is a talker. It answers from the whole internet, or from a script someone else wrote, and it likes to sound sure. You paste it on a site. It does not know your standard. When it does not know, it often guesses. Your name is on that guess.

This is not that.

This is a door on your house. A person asks in ordinary words. The answer comes only from what you have already said and approved — the same answers you give on the phone, in the shop, in a notebook. If it is not in that barn, the room says so. It does not invent a friendlier you.

Yes, it can answer when you are not in the room. That is the point. The house holds the words. You are still the author. You decide what may leave. You can change it. You can say no.

It will not book the calendar unless you have already set that up as your process. It will not replace the website, the handshake, or you. It will not run itself forever without a human who still cares what is true.

A cheap widget is easy because it does not belong to anyone. This door is harder in the right way: it only knows what this house has written down. That is why a customer can trust it, and why you can leave the room without leaving a stranger in charge of your voice.

If you want to see the difference, ask this room a real question about us. See whether the answer sounds like a house or like the internet.

The next step is not buying a bot. It is writing down the three questions people already ask you when you are in the room. Those are what should answer when you are not.
