## Public answer

**Question people actually type:**
How do invitations work? Can I revoke them?

In an invitation-only room, each person gets their own invitation. Here's what exists today and what doesn't yet.

**What works today:**

- **Per-member invitations.** Each invitation belongs to one person. You send it by email or message, and it contains a personal link with an invite token.
- **No account needed.** The invited person opens the link in any browser, and they're in. There's no password to create and no app to install.
- **Revocation by hand.** If someone leaves your group or shouldn't have access anymore, you can revoke their invitation, and their link stops working. Other members aren't affected.

**What isn't built yet:**

- **Timed expiry**, where an invitation stops working automatically on a set date.
- **Payment**, where an invitation is issued only after someone pays.

Both are ordinary code, and we'll scope them as owners need them. Until then you can handle both by hand: put the expiry date on your calendar and revoke the invitation when it comes, and take payment through your usual invoicing before you send the link.

**A good invitation explains itself.** People are cautious about links, so tell them what the room is, that it isn't a social network, and that nothing goes public by default. A note like this works well:

> I'm inviting you into my private room, a quiet place to read notes I've chosen to share and to ask about them. It isn't a social network, and nothing goes public by default. Open this link in any browser. If anything looks odd, reply and I'll walk you through it.

Invitation-only rooms publish no llms.txt and no Markdown twins, so nothing inside them is indexed by search engines or AI assistants. Your members can ask freely, and their conversations stay in their own browsers.
